Steller Day!

Going out on the bay in Homer did not disappoint! It was a beautiful day and we saw some great birds to include Steller's Eider and Yellow-billed Loon!

What's the deal?

I took my 10 year old son Liam to see "The Big Year". When the movie was over he said he wanted to do a big year and I said ok. The idea has grown out of control and we are about to take a journey that I hope will cement a father and son bond to last a lifetime. Counting birds is just the game; spending time together is the reward! Don't let this explanation fool you though...we are serious and are trying to break the record.

Update - A personal setback this summer derailed any chance of a really big number this year but we are back at and plan to finish as strong as possible!
