History on the road

Waiting for our Pelagic birding trip out of Hatteras, NC, Liam has been able to get even more History education. Wright Bros. Memorial today and Roanoke Island "lost colony" tomorrow!

What's the deal?

I took my 10 year old son Liam to see "The Big Year". When the movie was over he said he wanted to do a big year and I said ok. The idea has grown out of control and we are about to take a journey that I hope will cement a father and son bond to last a lifetime. Counting birds is just the game; spending time together is the reward! Don't let this explanation fool you though...we are serious and are trying to break the record.

Update - A personal setback this summer derailed any chance of a really big number this year but we are back at and plan to finish as strong as possible!
