Wild Turkey

We saw some Wild Turkey today finally on the way back from Lexington today!
It is looking like we will likely be heading to AZ first on our list of places for rarity chasing. Really want to get Nutting's and there are quite a few other good ones out there right now. We were planning on heading out tomorrow but the car broke down tonight and that could delay us a day.

Good luck in AZ I love it there. We tried to see the Common Crane but didn't spot him, but added Sandhill Cranes to our life list. My hubby and I are doing a big year too here's a link if you wanna check it out~ http://bigtruckbigyear2012.blogspot.com/

What's the deal?

I took my 10 year old son Liam to see "The Big Year". When the movie was over he said he wanted to do a big year and I said ok. The idea has grown out of control and we are about to take a journey that I hope will cement a father and son bond to last a lifetime. Counting birds is just the game; spending time together is the reward! Don't let this explanation fool you though...we are serious and are trying to break the record.

Update - A personal setback this summer derailed any chance of a really big number this year but we are back at and plan to finish as strong as possible!
